We met on line and usually people are very cautious and discreet about them until I know them well, but this man gave me his business card on the first date. He was president of a company and an Ivy League graduates. He seems confident and nothing to hide. I guess he wanted to impress me? Should I be careful? He is 51. No one can give you a motive for someone else, but i would guess he has not had any experience that worries him, he is inexperienced as a whole, fearless, an egotist, or he wants you to call him. Giving you a business card in and of itself does not make him a player, but maybe you have information other than what you have shared here to make you think so.
You don’t state your own age, which only really matters as it relates to his.
Just the business card thing doesn’t worry me. By the time i would meet someone (on line or not), they would have my name. Meeting on line is no more freaky than meeting some guy in a bar. They can misrepresent themselves either way.
A business card is not proof he is who he says he is, but giving it to you might have been his way to try to convince you, or to prove it somehow. Some men (especially those in his age group) are quite wrapped up in their economic position and their accomplishments. Sometimes they are great guys with a lot to offer in other arenas. Sometimes their careers are all they have and all they care about. You’ll know soon enough if he is worth anything.
